Defend the grid and the pipeline,
from IT to OT.
Utilities, oil and gas operators, pipelines, generators and renewables face state-backed attackers and ransomware that can cross into control systems. We monitor converged IT and OT environments around the clock, with response guardrails built for operations that cannot go dark.
What energy operators defend against.
The threats range from patient state actors to opportunistic ransomware, and both can reach physical processes.
State-backed pre-positioning
Nation-state groups have attacked power grids and are known to pre-position inside critical infrastructure for future disruption.
Ransomware crossing into OT
An IT-side infection can force operators to shut down control systems as a precaution, even when OT is never touched.
Exposed remote access
Vendor connections, remote SCADA access and internet-facing management interfaces are frequent entry points to operational networks.
Distributed energy resources
Wind, solar, storage and EV charging connect to central management platforms, adding new paths into grid operations.
Insecure industrial protocols
DNP3, Modbus and IEC 61850 were built for reliability, not authentication. Detection has to understand them.
The standards you are measured against.
National and emirate-level requirements first, then the international standard for industrial control systems and the US rules for operators with US assets.
| Framework | Who it applies to | What we help with |
|---|---|---|
| NCA Operational Technology Cybersecurity Controls (OTCC) | Saudi critical national infrastructure operators that run industrial control systems | OT gap assessment, zone and conduit review, monitoring and incident response planning |
| NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) | Saudi government entities and critical national infrastructure operators, including energy | Controls assessment, remediation and the monitoring and incident evidence NCA expects |
| UAE Information Assurance (IA) Regulation | Critical-sector entities in the UAE, including energy and utilities | Controls assessment, continuous monitoring and incident handling |
| Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) Information Security Regulation (ISR) | Dubai government and semi-government entities, including utilities | Gap assessment against the ISR, programme design and audit evidence |
| Qatar National Information Assurance (NIA) standard | Government agencies and critical-sector organizations in Qatar, including energy | Gap assessment, OT security review and audit evidence |
| IEC 62443 | Operators and integrators of industrial automation and control systems | Zone and conduit design, maturity assessment and security level targets |
| TSA pipeline security directives | Operators with US pipeline assets | Architecture reviews, incident response plans and assessment support |
Built for operations that cannot go dark.
IT and OT boundary review
Assessment of segmentation, remote access paths and the historians and engineering workstations that bridge corporate and control networks.
Passive OT monitoring
Asset inventory and anomaly detection on industrial protocols, without active scanning that could disturb control systems.
Grid and pipeline exercises
War games and tabletop exercises built on grid outage and SCADA compromise scenarios, run with your operations team in the room.
From real client environments.
Guardrails that knew when not to act
MSOC response guardrails prevented the automatic isolation of a domain controller and a firewall on noisy triggers.
Client identities withheld pending permission. Named references and logos available on request.
How we help energy operators.
MSOC
Autonomous detection and response across IT and OT, with guardrails that keep critical assets out of automatic containment.

We cannot let an automated system touch our control network.
You do not have to. You set the boundaries: critical assets can be monitor-only, and anything irreversible waits for senior sign-off. Guardrails like these prevented an unnecessary isolation in the case above.
Will monitoring disrupt operations?
No. OT telemetry is collected passively, and nothing is actively scanned on the control network without your operations team's agreement.
Our OT is air-gapped.
Most air gaps have exceptions: vendor laptops, remote support links, data diodes and historians. We find out which exist in your environment and watch them.
Can you help with NCA OTCC or IEC 62443 assessments?
Yes. We assess against the standard, help close the gaps and keep the evidence current through Forseti.
