Incident Response & Forensics · Bifrost

What was taken, by whom and when,
documented to hold up in court.

Bifrost is our digital forensics practice. Credentialed examiners recover evidence from computers, cloud accounts, phones, SIM cards and drones in a dedicated lab, peer-review the findings, and testify to them when it matters.

What it is

Evidence is only as good as how it was handled.

When your IT team opens the laptop, the evidence on it may stop being admissible. Forensics is about answering the question and preserving the proof at the same time: imaging with hash verification, working on copies, and documenting every step so that opposing counsel has nothing to pull on.

Bifrost covers the full range of digital evidence. Disk and endpoint forensics recovers deleted files and reconstructs user activity. Memory forensics captures what disappears at power-off: running processes, injected code, credentials and fileless malware. Network forensics traces command-and-control, lateral movement and how much left the building. Cloud forensics acquires audit logs and SaaS artifacts where there is no disk to image.

Reports are written for three audiences: technical appendices for your IT team, plain-language summaries for leadership, and legal-grade reports with methodology and chain-of-custody documentation for court.

What you get
  • Forensic acquisition with cryptographic hash verification at every step
  • A reconstructed timeline of what happened, correlated across devices and accounts
  • Recovery of deleted, hidden and tampered data, including anti-forensic activity
  • A legal-grade report with methodology and full chain-of-custody documentation
  • An executive summary that answers the question in plain language
  • Expert witness testimony in civil and criminal proceedings
How it works

From intake to testimony.

Preserve

We secure the devices, accounts and logs that matter before they are altered, and open the chain-of-custody record.

Acquire

Forensic images and exports are taken with write protection and hashed at capture, so the original is never touched again.

Examine

Credentialed examiners analyse the copies in our lab, reconstruct the timeline and peer-review every finding.

Report and testify

You receive the report written for your audience, and our examiners stand behind it in court if required.

Coverage

Every place evidence lives.

Computers and servers

Windows, macOS and Linux disks and removable media: deleted-file recovery, file-system metadata, browser artifacts and user-activity timelines.

Memory

Volatile evidence captured before it is lost: running processes, network connections, injected code, encryption keys and in-memory-only malware.

Network

Packet captures, flow data, DNS, proxy and firewall logs reconstructed into the attacker's path and an exfiltration estimate.

Cloud and email

Audit logs, API histories and mailbox data from the major cloud platforms, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Phones and SIM cards

iOS and Android extraction, including consent-based acquisition on a standard laptop. See mobile forensics.

Drones and devices

Flight logs, media and device records recovered from drones and other connected equipment.

Case types

Where Bifrost is called in.

  • The aftermath of a breach or ransomware incident
  • Intellectual property theft and departing-employee investigations
  • Employee misconduct and internal investigations
  • Fraud and insurance disputes
  • Civil litigation and regulatory inquiries
  • Criminal matters, working alongside law enforcement
Ideal for

Who it is for

Organizations in a dispute, under investigation, or coming out of an incident, and the counsel advising them. If the answer may end up in front of a judge, regulator or insurer, it needs to be found by someone who can defend how it was found.

Questions

What buyers ask.

Our IT team can look at the laptop.

They can, but if they do, the evidence may not be admissible. Handling is what makes it hold up in court. Power it down or leave it as it is, and call us first.

Is your evidence management the same thing as TYR?

No. Bifrost is the forensics: acquiring and analysing the evidence. TYR is our evidence platform for packaging, audit trail and chain of custody, so the evidence Bifrost produces stays court-ready.

Will your examiners testify?

Yes. Our examiners provide expert-witness testimony and prepare reports that translate technical findings into language judges and juries understand.

What if the data is only in the cloud?

Cloud forensics is a core part of Bifrost. Where there is no disk to image, we preserve and acquire the audit logs, API histories and account data that tell the story.

Need evidence that holds up?

Tell us about the matter and an examiner will scope it with you. Call the hotline if evidence is at risk right now.
